quiet time

I'm enjoying a little quiet time while daddy deals with the kids and bedtime.  I love sneaking downstairs to the computer and listening to them play while I enjoy some time for myself.  Tonight it's hide and go seek...one of the many favorite games!  I love it.  They're so cute when the are looking for daddy!!

The boys have had a lot of extra energy today (even with ear infections) since we're stuck inside.  It's amazing how quickly they feel cooped up when we have one rainy day.  Our week has been filled with park days, kiddie pools, bubbles and swimming...and mosquitos!  They are crazy this year.  I can't handle how bad it is.  We don't go anywhere without bug spray.

I seriously love summer though.  I think it's one of my favorite times of the year.  Mostly because of the fun things we get to do all day when it's nice outside.  I've made a short list of things I want to do with the kids...things that we try to do every summer.  So we'll be going to the Zoo, the lake, Calaway Park and possible camping with my sister.  What kinds of things do you try to do each year??  And has anyone been to Jurassic Forest this year?  We went last year, but I haven't heard of anyone going this year....just wondering.

I think my quiet time is done.  I hear daddy giving medicine before bedtime which sometimes takes 2 people....

We love the park!

Awhile ago I had taken the kids to the park and actually brought my camera.  We were laughing and having fun taking pictures on the swings...the kids loved it!!  I was trying not to get the houses in the background, and by getting low enough to the ground you pretty much can't see them.  I need so much practice....

These boys just love playing outside.  And when they're trapped in something like a swing it's almost easier to take pictures of them...they can't get away from me!!  haha!!

This boy loves the baby swings so he can be just like his brother!  He's so good at pumping his legs on the big swings, but getting pushed in the baby swings is way more fun....

Now we just need more sunny days and warmer weather!!  Summer...where are you??  You tease us with a beautiful day and then rainy cloudy days...then a beautiful day and rain again.  It almost feels like summer will never truly be here.

Looking forward to the weekend...date night with hubby tonight and besties tomorrow night!!  Yeah!!!

Good Memories!

I was cleaning off my computer the other day and came upon some pictures from last summer.  A little trip we made to Calaway Park.  I couldn't stop smiling as I looked through the pictures...mostly because I was remembering how much fun all the kids had together that day.  The weather was a little overcast, but that meant it wasn't crowded!  It was the perfect day.

Okay...maybe it didn't start out soooo perfect.  Ryker tormented my niece the whole way down...seriously the whole way.  He'd pull her hair and do anything to make her scream.  It wasn't so fun.  And then to top it off Cody had put the kids into the car without shoes!  I just assumed that they were wearing shoes, so I didn't bother to throw any into the back.  You can imagine how happy I was when we arrived!!!  It was probably a good thing that Cody had stayed home...haha!  In the little gift shop there was a knock off version of crocs...of course not in either of my kids shoe size, but I found some that worked.  Thank goodness.  The fun could finally begin!

We had fun :)

I think the only time I came here when I was a little kid was when I was about the same age as Ryker.  I have pictures of me on these same boats (I'm assuming they're the same ones...?? or similar anyway)

And we ended the day with the fishing game...a prize for each of the kids...Chelsey....  :)  Actually she was a pro at getting the red magnets which won you the bigger prize so all the kiddies wanted her to do the fishing.

This is definitely on our list of things to do this summer...day trip!!  Maguire was barely 1 year old when we went last year...so this year will be so much more fun for him.  And Ryker is already asking if he can go on all the rides after looking at all the pictures with me.

I know this weather has a lot do with it, but I am soooo completely excited for summer!  I want to see the sun and feel the warmth.  I want to walk through the grass and play at the park with the kids.  I want to eat ice cream without thinking it's too cold outside for a cold treat....  And I want to be able to open my windows, not wear sweaters all day long and walk around in bare feet.  Is that too much to ask for???  Maybe I'm feeling this was way too cause we've been sick non-stop the past 3 months.  Ugghhh!  I'm done.  Somethings gotta change...lets hope it's the weather :)

He was oh sooo cute!

Photobucket

Last week we took Ryker to the church parking lot to practise riding his two wheel bike.  He's almost there...he just needs to practise pedalling a bit more and then he'll have it.  Except that after a few rides around he was ready to sit and watch daddy ride!  haha!!

He was soooo cute in his little helmet...I just can't handle the cuteness!

And Maguire watched every move Ryker made.  Any chance he got he was right there at the bike.  He's going to be right there with Ryker when he's big enough.  I can already see it.  These two little buddies riding around together getting into trouble....

They've been playing so good together lately.  They'll take turns chasing each other around and then Ryker will give Maguire a big kiss and say something like "you're the cutest little boy...!!" (in his best baby voice).  He makes me laugh.

Tonight we were driving to the west end and Ryker kept asking if we were there...after a couple of minutes he holds his hands up and says "we're lost!  Yup...we're lost!"  Cody and I both started laughing and then from the back we hear..."don't laugh...we're lost!"  He just sounded so old.  I'm not ready for him to grow up.  When did my little baby become a big boy??!!

I'm looking forward to the long weekend.  Nothing really planned at the moment, but I'm looking forward to having the weekend with my little family.

Makes me happy :)
