I have been meaning to post about Ryker's birthday...way back in December, but it just didn't happen. Is it too late to share a month later???
The invitation...
I kept them super simple and printed the pictures directly on the back side of a 12x12 piece of paper. All I had to do was cut the strip of photos, fold in half and make a few more cuts. I added glitter to some chipboard stars and glued them to the front. Done. I should also mention we always just invite family and cousins to the party. Once he starts kindergarten then we'll talk about a 'Friends' party....
The Birthday Tree and Decorations...
Cody and I always decorate for the party the night before so that when Ryker wakes up he's suprised and super excited! This year we heard "WOOOOWWW!!!" at about 6:00 a.m. and then a little boy bounce all the way up to our room. He was so excited because when he walked out of his room balloons were all around his door!
I went with turquoise and orange this year so that I could use some stuff that I already had...added some pictures of the birthday boy, glittered clothes pins, streamers, party blowers, and pom-poms!
Sorry for the dark photos, but I took most of the pictures at night...and my house is horrible to take pictures in. The low light and yellowish walls make it a bit of a nightmare :)
The Cupcakes...
I am not a baker. Seriously. I've attempted cakes and cupcakes in the past, but I've decided to leave this to the pros. This year my sweet friend offered to make the cupcakes for me and they turned out soooooo yummy and adorable!!! She's so talented!! Ryker was so excited...and I even let him eat 2 cupcakes...it was his birthday :)
The birthday boy!
And we kept the tradition of decorating gingerbread houses! It's always a hit with my kids!!
The boys enjoyed riding around on the birthday gift. They are hilarious riding around together...and yes, I let my kids ride their bikes in the house! They love it :)
It was another fun birthday. Ryker loved it and that's what matters the most. I still can't believe he's 5!!!
